Peter the lost boy of Sudan

At the beginning peter was very excited about him moving to America he thought that America would be heaven not knowing about the difficulties he would face once he gets there. Peter had friends in the refugee camp in Kenya but he left them behind when he moved to America to start a new life. After long hours of flying they were finally in Houston(America) they were all excited and curious about what their new life was going to be like , they were taken to their new house were they were going to life in , they were told that the company was only going to pay the rent for 1 month so that they could get a job and later pay by them self . some of the refugees started working in factories or supermarkets while others were still looking for something to do , the refugees that did work had to pay the rent of the place they were living in . Peter didn't find any opportunities in Houston so he decided to move to Kansas to see what opportunities he would find there . Peter decides to finish high school . The first problem Peter faced was time , he had to manage school time and working time because he needed the money to send to his friends back home and for him . The other problem was that he had to deal with stereotypes, like when he was working and he was told to work outside because he was African and he is used to the heat , this were the kind of stereotypes Peter had to deal with and other problem Peter had to deal with was fitting in a community that is not really used to people like him. In Sudan is very common that men would grab their hands and thing like that and there is normal but in America if you do that you would be called "strange" Peter and his friends stopped grabbing hands and things like that so they could fit in . The culture in Sudan is very different to the one in US and people like Peter have to deal with changes like this only to fit in into the community.
