JC essay

Brutus

“God knows I value my honor more than I fear death” . Brutus comes from a family of the most honorable people of Rome so its up to him to follow the same path his ancestors took. Brutus will only do things in a honorable way and only if they are honorable, what really drives Brutus is Rome and the Republic and he will do anything to keep Rome, even kill . Caesar threatened the Republic by wanting to be king he was told to be ambitious, then the conspirators that wanted to safe Rome from another cruel leader killed Caesar, one of the conspirators was Brutus, . Brutus killed Caesar in order to keep the republic and everyone free but was the killing of Caesar done in a honorable way, well that’s what Brutus thinks.

Brutus loves Rome and the freedom there is in it and he wants to keep it that way, “Freedom” is was pushes Brutus forward he wants freedom for Rome and the people . Brutus is motivated by this because Rome had a king before and the people fought to throw him away and they did after that the people of Rome didn’t want anymore kings and that’s how Rome became a republic , Brutus as the people doesn’t want Rome to be ruled by another king and throughout the story he fights to keep the republic together . Brutus killed Caesar because he was ambitious and they thought he would become a tyrant “Let’s all cry peace , freedom and liberty” Brutus said this when he killed Caesar as if Caesar would take those things away form them, they thought that if they killed Caesar they would protect their freedom. This quote shows that Brutus will do anything to keep their freedom. Brutus tells the people about Caesars ambition and how he was threatening the republic “Had you rather Caesar were living and die all slaves” This means that Brutus was certain that Caesar wanted to be a tyrant or that’s what he thought so he wants the people to understand that he did it for them and their freedom. This shows how Brutus cares about the people being free. Brutus loves freedom and that’s what he wants for the people no matter what is in his way he will fight for it and do anything it takes .

Caesar was told to be ambitious and he threatened the republic of Rome , Brutus didn’t take any chances and killed him. Freedom and Honor were Brutus main motivations in this story that keep him pushing forward. Brutus would fight anyone that threatened the republic in order to keep freedom and only if it was honorable and for the good of Rome. Brutus did not reach his goal he killed Caesar but cause of that there was war in all the parts of Italy separating the country and destroying Rome. He did achieve his goal because he thought about the outcome of one thing

But not of the whole act he didn’t expect the things that happened to happen. I thing the act was worthy because Brutus did kill Caesar but he created a war that separated Rome and destroyed it to pieces.
